I am the luckiest girl in the world. Blessed beyond measure. I am grateful and unapologetic about all that God has given me and done for me.
On Friday I celebrated one of the most special days of my life. I premiered on the reality TV talent contest, The Voice of Germany. It's a dream come true and I don't take this great accomplishment for granted. I'm so proud to be a part of something so special.
Today I decided to watch the video of the performance again online and I found the comments to be very interesting. Some of the words used to describe me were arrogant, proud, and conceited.
Also today I received a number of messages from family, friends and fellow South Africans who ,follow me on twitter, congratulating me on this great achievement. Some of the words they used to describe me were hard-working, humble, and inspiring.
Last night I also had a conversation with a colleague who told me that she feels that whenever we work together I always hold back and I should sing out more.
During this conversation I remembered that when I was in the theater I was always told to hold back and tone it down.
Here's what the past two days have taught me and I'm hoping someone else can learn too...
Know who you are because if you don't know who you people will tell you who you are and you'll believe them…
Know your purpose, stay humble and always accept criticism because constructive criticism will build you, but don't you ever listen to anybody whose aim is to break you down and steal your joy.
This is such an amazing time in my life and I thank God for how He's using me to fulfill His purpose. I am excited for all that is coming my way. All I ever want to do is to make my country proud. That's not something easy to do...
I think a lot. I question a lot. This is my journey to finding the answers and also sharing with you my thoughts on life as i see it...
