The reality is, sometimes you lose. And you're never too good to lose. You're never too big to lose. You're never too smart to lose. It happens.
We like to say that life is unfair. This is not true. I'll give you two very good reasons why life IS fair.
1. We all have 24 hours in a day. 2. Life is fair because life is 'unfair' to all of us.
You can follow all the rules, work hard, be a faithful believer, have a positive attitude in every and any situation, be kind to people, be humble, but still lose. It happens. It happens to all of us. And it sucks. And it hurts because then you are left with no explanations and sometimes, no solutions because, according to what you know, you've done everything right. You've done everything you possibly can.
You reach a point where you wish you could have a sit down with God and ask Him, "What is going on? What are you doing? Where is this going?"
You look around and it seems as though everyone else is happy and successful, but you. It appears that everyone's life is better than yours. You begin to count other people's blessings instead of your own.
Life happens. It happens to all of us. No one is exempt from it. No is above it. No one gets special treatment from life. Sometimes we win. Sometimes we lose. It's just that when we lose, we tend to forget about all the other times when we won and other people lost. The pain cuts so deep that it feels as though it will never end. It feels like the end. The good news is, nothing lasts forever. The bad news is, nothing lasts forever.
When I'm feeling down because I've lost, I always take a day off to be sad. I stay in my room all day just to cry and be sad and feel sorry for myself. We've been taught that crying is a sign of weakness. But it isn't. Since birth crying has always been a sign that you are alive. So when I've lost, whether it's a relationship or something else that I worked hard for, I cry. I cry because it hurts. I cry because I'm human. I cry because life is unfair.
“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.”
Just because you fail once doesn't mean you're going to fail at everything, and it certainly doesn't mean that you are a failure. You can't allow one bad day, or even a bad week, turn into a bad life. You have to let it go and move on. You've got to pick yourself up, and keep it moving. Because if you don't, one failure will turn your whole life into a complete fail. And you are not a failure.
KFC's Colonel Sanders' famous secret fried chicken recipe was rejected 1,009 times before a restaurant accepted it. JK Rowling was homeless and her first Harry Potter manuscript was rejected by 12 publishers before one publisher gave her a chance but told her to get a day job since she had no chance of making money writing children's books. In 2012, J.K. Rowling was worth $1,000,000,000.
Michael Jordan, The Beatles, Eminem, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Oprah Winfrey, Albert Einstein, J.K. Rowling, and Colonel Sanders at some point must've felt that life is unfair because life is unfair. But it's fair because it's unfair to all of us...
I think a lot. I question a lot. This is my journey to finding the answers and also sharing with you my thoughts on life as i see it...
